The paper trail began when Robyn started illustrating birth announcements as gifts for friends. She found that once a baby came along, people suddenly needed bigger homes, which led her to create moving announcements. Then the babies had birthdays, which called for invitations. As word of her designs spread across the playground, preschool and birthday party circuit, she realized she was onto something.
Parents who were sophisticated and stylish wanted stationery that was meant for children, without being childish. Very quickly, a few friends had turned into friends of friends and, in 2003, she officially launched Robyn Miller Design.
Fun and festive, but not too frilly, Robyn's style comes from her background as a children's book designer who later went on to the grownup world of magazine publishing. She worked for premier titles such as New York Magazine, Shape Fit Pregnancy and, finally, as promotion art director for SELF Magazine. Now a mother of two herself, Robyn constantly illustrates and designs new products as she gets fully entrenched in the children's social scene. Robyn lives in New York City with her husband Todd and their sons Jonah and Griffin.
